Reality and shadows of transformation

What are some of the typical shadows? And how come shadows show up in the first place?

There are things that don’t exist and yet we believe we see them.

Example:

  1. Strategic planning when there is no tension there. But they still see a need to do a strategic plan.
  2. How often do we create policies or procedures for a problem that may not exist.

There are also things that are real that we don’t see.

 The realities are out there but we just don’t want light to shine on it.

 Examples being results don’t matter, only people so they wanted to focus on people and forget the results. But results do matter! Just needs a fine balance vs the previous outlook on results being the centre of everything. Or top leadership no longer making decisions but that’s not true, they have a greater part to play in self-management as anyone else. This was just what was playing out in our head.

The invitation is to ruthlessly try and see reality as it is. Try and notice the tensions and explore the moments and confront the shadows or if the tension is real or made because of how we were traditionally wired to think that way.

Competition = recognition and progression.
